The CSA President, Dr. Dominique Maestracci, has sent a letter to the ASA Board of Directors in what has got to be the most blatant abuse of power I have seen yet.
"During this meeting, the members can have a vote of non-confidence. No where within the By-laws of The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) or ASA is there any mention that Board of Directors may be removed from office due to the membership not having confidence in them."
Has Dr. Maestracci not been informed of Article 19 1 iii) of the ASA bylaws?
Article 19 - Vacancies 1. The office of a member of the Board of Directors may be vacated: i) Upon resignation in writing. ii) If he/she absents him/herself from two (2) meetings per year of the Board without satisfactory reason. iii) If he/she be removed by resolution of the Association for good and sufficient cause.
Dr. Maestracci is also indicating that the five members elected in 2009 may be replaced at the 2011 AGM and that "Those Directors elected in 2010 must finish their term in 2012."
