On the 30th
Mr Steen of the CMSA sent "An Update on the Alberta Soccer
Association Dispute and Calgary Minor Soccer"
to
all CMSA members, board and staff. The update is intended to
give readers some background information about the ASA
dispute. Mr Steen stresses that the update "By its nature as a summary, this
update is light on details, but is an accurate retelling of the events
that have occurred."
Mr Steen's update made it way to members of the Alberta soccer
community
beyond the CMSA. I was forwarded an annotated
copy of the update along
with a request that I post the response on the website.
His email is a good example why folks need to read
and get informed on the issues and not just rely upon what is said.
There is a serious polarization of views being perpetuated here. I am
not going to advocate for my view but I do think it is important for
all ASA people to be informed, know the issues and formulate their own
opinions.
The EDSA
held their AGM on the 25th Sept. and gave a presentation on the ASA
dispute, a copy of which can be seen here.
